Our Mission and Vision
Mission Statement
Alexander Counseling Center exists to provide accessible, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive behavioral health care for people who have often been overlooked or underserved. We center identity-affirming care for people with disabilities and neurodivergence, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, women impacted by gender-based discrimination, Veterans, and those experiencing housing instability or other systemic barriers to care. Our mission is to reduce barriers to mental health services while supporting healing, resilience, and dignity across the many lived experiences within our community.
Vision Statement
We envision a behavioral health system where people from minoritized cultural communities feel seen, respected, and supported—without fear of stigma, dismissal, or exclusion. This includes people with disabilities and neurodivergence, culturally and linguistically diverse individuals, LGBTQIA+ individuals, women affected by gender-based inequities, and Veterans navigating service-related trauma, disability, or access barriers. Our vision is to be a trusted, welcoming community provider where culturally specific, trauma-informed care fosters connection, empowerment, and long-term wellbeing.
